People with low income literally depend on dollar stores..

Activist investor is the weirdest thing I’ve read in a while

Dollar trees, dollar generals, family dollars’, ect. are dispersed all throughout big and small towns so they’re easily accessible. Not only do they have toiletries, basic household items, cheap snacks, cheap basic toys, office supplies, and cleaning tools ;most of the things in these stores are not luxury items. They are usually essential items to maintaining a clean and modest life.

It would be one thing if this were just some candy store or something but this is a store people rely on to keep their children fed and maintain a household.

How could anyone not want these items to be as accessible as possible???

They also have cheap fun items for children which can be very important. It’s a place where kids could get toys and activities they might not have normally been able to afford. Some family dollars even have clothes and school uniforms for cheap.

i mean i think the argument would be that a lot of the merchandise is made cheap and foreign under bad working conditions, not to mention working AT the dollar store doesn’t earn any employees under management anything anywhere near a living wage, and bumping up prices a little bit could help with those things

on the other hand, would i trust the company to not just pocket that money? absolutely the hell not

Mackenzie Bezos becoming the 5th richest person alive by doing nothing but playing the long game and somehow managing to swerve that Prenup with IRL Lex Luther is super dope, but what I care about most is what she ends up doing with that money.

Stealing from and dethroning the rich is cool as shit but ultimately means absolutely nothing to me if she doesn’t meaningfully redistribute that flow back into society. Which she probably won’t.

Mackenzie Bezos could build around 600,000 housing units for the homeless and low income families, and STILL have just under 7 Billion in walking around money.

I know we’re having a good time laughing it up at Bezos possibly losing half of his money in his divorce but please let’s stop and take a moment to realize that losing 67 billion dollars will have absolutely no impact on his quality of life, which makes for a rudimentary but functional litmus test for determining whether or not someone has too much fucking money

also his ex-wife isn’t going to do anything with that money but hoard it as well

there is nothing inherently more ethical about a female billionaire

why DO teenage girls go through a witch/occult phase? I had tarot cards and a spellbook and I knew a group of girls who messed with ouija boards and another who had ghost hunting equipment. “oh yeah Cindy’s just going through that girly phase where she tries to raise the dead.”

theory - we want power and know our culture doesn’t want to give us any?

Addendum: witches are one of the few cultural figures of female empowerment that don’t derive their power from their relationship to a man.

the most important thing to me ever is bi kids knowing that it’s ok to be 10% attracted to women and 90% attracted to men or 10% attracted to men and 90% attracted to women and still feeling ok to identify as bi, and still feeling like their identity is valid, and still feeling like they can lead fulfilling lives with both (or other) genders. like that’s just so fricking important.

I’m a bi adult and you know what? I needed this. Thank you.

it’s also important to remember that it can be a fluid % like sometimes it’ll be 50/50 some times 10/90 and then drift into a 45/65 or even 2/98 and it’s still okay. It’s just where you are at that time in your life.

A day of rest is never a wasted day. Just because you didn’t do anything productive by societies standards, does not mean you have thrown a day away. A day of rest is good for your health - mental and physical. A day of rest is good for inspiring creativity and motivation.
